| The Fishing Rivers Inlet is home to the biggest Chinook (king) salmon in the
world. These are the waters were records are broken, reels are spooled
and anglers come to battle big slabs. Nestled in a quiet bay near the mouth of the inlet and a five minute
boat run to some of the coast's most famous fishing spots is
the Rivers Inlet Sportsmans Club. This is a family owned lodge that
has been operating for 25 years and guests returning year after year
for the great salmon fishing and warm atmosphere. To begin your adventure you will fly from Vancouver to Port Hardy,
which is located on the north tip of Vancouver Island. You will then
board a float plane for the 30 minute flight into Rivers Inlet. This
is the only way into Rivers Inlet, there are no roads in this remote
part of British Columbia. Once arriving at the lodge you'll be
greeted with a warm welcome from the lodge's friendly staff.
Enjoy crab and a cold
beer and expert instruction from the Director of Fishing, Simon Kelly,
before its time to head out on the water and get some gear down. |

Mooching, a unique style of salmon fishing, is the preferred method here. It's an interesting way to fish, using light gear, fishing tight to the shore and keeping your bait in relative shallow water from 10 to 40 feet. 'Mooching' for salmon can be a very rewarding way to fish! Full equipped boats allow for unlimited fishing time and the calm waters of Rivers Inlet make it a great location for those who do not handle rougher seas well. The world famous 'Wall', a spot that produces more big fish than any other place on the coast, is only minutes from the lodge. If you are in search of Chinook (king) salmon over 50 pounds Rivers Inlet is the place to be! View Our fishing gallery |
