Multi-Day Trips

Gold River Steelhead Fishing: January 25/13 – Fishing on the Gold River has gotten off to a slow start. Definitely could use some rain as the Gold River has been very low and most of the fish have yet to move into the river because of that. As soon as central Vancouver Island gets some rain and maybe some slightly warmer temperatures we’re expecting a strong bump of fish. Booking a Gold River trip will probably be a very good bet starting in mid February. Read more…

North Island Steelhead Fishing: January 25/13 – We actually just returned from northern Vancouver Island after a few tough days on the rivers there. The rivers were a bit low but the fish were also a bit late. The early season push of fish has subsided a bit but there still has been reports of some good days on the rivers near Port Hardy and Port McNeill. Read more…

Fly Fishing near Vancouver: January 25/13 - The rivers we guide on an hour north of Vancouver have provided us with some decent trout fishing over the past month. No huge numbers but definitely some fish around including resident rainbow trout and bull trout. Soon steelhead season will be starting and there are already reports of the very odd early season steelhead moving into the rivers. Vancouver Salmon Fishing: There are winter chinook salmon being caught near Vancouver at the moment. It is fairly cold but if you’re really wanting a fishing trip out of Vancouver this would be your best option. We have full-day and half-day charters leaving right from Granville Island and our boats are covered to keep you dry out in the rain! Fly Fishing near Vancouver: The rivers are dropping due to the cold weather and accumulation of snow in the mountains making for clear conditions and slower than usual fishing. The salmon are all done now, we leave them alone and it is still to early for the run of steelhead in the Squamish River but trout fishing has been okay. There are both resident rainbow trout and bull trout in the systems and they’re feeding fairly aggressively on salmon egg patterns and flesh patterns. We still have a few spots for our Skeena River Steelhead Tour during the 2012 fall months. This is an amazing steelhead adventure that we’ve offered for several years now. We call it the “Tour” as it gives anglers the chance to fish multiple rivers in BC’s north on a totally customized adventure.

Chromer takes care of all your travel arrangements, including securing guided rod days on rivers such as the Skeena, Kalum, Kispiox and Bulkley. We also look after your flights, get you set up in comfy lodgings and have all ground transportation ready for your arrival.
