Each tour is designed for you and your group to maximize fishing and minimize travel headaches. Here are a few tour details…

Air Travel:  We’ll arrange your flights to northern BC where we’ll be there to great you at the airport. Flying time from Vancouver is about two hours and we’ll get you booked on flights that work with your connections.

Ground Transportation: From the minute you land in northern British Columbia all ground transportation is included. This means you can sit back, relax and never worry about a thing. Our tour truck is a spacious four-door Ford F-150 pickup truck with lots of secure storage.

Fishing: While in Terrace, BC you’ll have the opportunity to fish a variety of rivers, including the Skeena, Kalum & Nass. These are world-class steelhead rivers home to some of the world’s biggest steelhead.  While in Smithers, BC you’ll fish the stunning Bulkley River. Our crew of licensed guides are among the top steelhead guides in BC and all guiding is done via jetboat, giving you access to a huge variety of water.

Accommodations: With somewhat limited options in Smithers and Terrace we’ve come up with the best possible hotel stays for your trip that will keep you comfortable.

Most of our Skeena River Steelhead Tours originate in the town of Terrace, BC. There is a modern airport in Terrace and central accommodations that allow for easy access to a variety of rivers. In Terrace you’ll fish with guide Todd Scharf and his crew of highly regarded steelhead guides. Skeena River:  The main drainage of northern BC, the Skeena is the main artery for summer-run steelhead migrating inland to the Kispiox, Bulkley and Babine rivers among hundreds of other small streams.  Long sweeping runs hold plus size steelhead that will put you deep into the backing.

Kalum River:  The Kalum River is a major tributary of the Skeena and an absolute pleasure to fish.  This is a river known for producing some of the largest steelhead in British Columbia. Fed from Kalum Lake, the Kalum River has long slow moving runs and varied structure suiting it perfectly to the swung-fly angler.

About 2 hours from Terrace is Smithers, BC. It’s a leisurely drive and we’ll visit area highlights including totem poles and native villages along the way. Once in Smithers, the second stop on tour, you’ll fish the Bulkley River but will have the option to fish other rivers as well…

Bulkley River:  Spectacular steelhead fishing is what the Bulkley is know for. An easily waded beautiful river with approximately 30,000 returning wild steelhead annually. This is a dream fishery that is one of ours, and our clients, favourites.

Kispiox River:  The Kispiox lies between Smithers and Terrace. Fishing here is a possibility while on tour. This is a technical river to fish but the chance at a 20+ pound steelhead is a reality here.

Morice River:  The Morice is the main tributary of the Bulkley and offers some spectacular fishing during the late summer and fall months. The Morice offers easy wading, short casting distances and relatively easy fishing.

We’ve done our best to ensure our guests on tour have comfortable accommodations.  After all this is not a budget trip and without pleasant accommodations then it wouldn’t really matter how great the fishing was!

While in Terrace you’ll enjoy the comforts of the Lodge at Skeena Landing. This is the only boutique hotel of its kind in the area and definitely the only spot you’ll want to stay in Terrace.

While in Smithers we’ll set you up at either the Aspen Hotel or the Hudson Bay Hotel. Smithers accommodation options are a bit limited but these two hotels are the area’s finest.
