Central Vancouver Island Salmon & Steelhead Fishing

These Chromer Sport Fishing customized freshwater fishing packages will have you based in the town of Campbell River on Vancouver Island's east coast. This centralized location gives you access to some of the BC's finest wild steelhead rivers and salmon rivers. Guided drifts on the Gold River and the Campbell River will have you gettin' bent on big bright chrome steelhead and all five Pacific salmon species.

Steelhead Fishing Packages

Vancouver Island Steelhead Fishing: There are two different runs of steelhead on Vancouver Island. Fishing for summer-run steelhead starts in July and end in October. Fish for winter-run steelhead starts in December and ends in April. Most of our steelhead trips are on the world-famous Gold River located on central Vancouver Island. The Gold River hosts one of the most amazing 100% wild winter steelhead runs in all of North America. Winter-run steelhead range in size from 5 pounds to 25 pounds. Our packages include full day drifts on the Gold River with Vancouver Island's finest freshwater fishing guides.

Vancouver Island Salmon Fishing: You'll want to get to the rivers of the Campbell River and Gold River areas anytime from mid Summer to late Fall when the five Pacific salmon species begin to migrate from the ocean to the freshwater. Salmon fishing on Vancouver Island's central region is easy to access from Vancouver and Chromer guarantees to hook you up with the area's best fishing guides at the peak times of the salmon migration.

You can fly-fish or use traditional gear to target salmon in the summer and fall, steelhead in the summer and winter and trout year round. We have all the gear and expertise to accommodate many styles of fishing, so tell us what you're after, and our fishing guides will accommodate you. These trips are a catch and release fishery.
