Summer & Fall Guided Fishing

Summer fishing includes chasing wild rainbow trout and bull trout on the Cheakamus River.
Late summer sees the arrival of the first migrating salmon into local rivers
Fall is all about salmon fishing. Fish for Chum salmon and Coho (silver) salmon 45 minutes from Vancouver.

Winter & Spring Guided Fishing

Steelhead run from mid February till mid May in the Squamish system.

Where Will I Be Fishing Near Vancouver?: The majority of our guided fishing trips from Vancouver will have you on the Squamish River system. This is a wild river system only 45 minutes north of Vancouver. This is a relatively untouched and uncrowded river system that boasts five different rivers and year round salmon, trout and steelhead fishing opportunities.

Vancouver Summer Freshwater Fishing: Our fishing season starts in July, when river levels begin to drop from the snowmelt. During the summer you will be able to target rainbow trout and native bull trout on the small Cheakamus River. In the late summer you can target some migrating salmon. The Cheakamus is an easy river for beginners to fish and will give advanced anglers a challenge with big bull trout pushing 10 pounds.

Vancouver Fall Salmon Fishing: During October and November youʼll find fantastic river fishing for salmon. Several species of Pacific salmon, including Chum salmon and Coho (silver) salmon return to the Squamish River system by the thousands. This is a favorite time for fishing from Vancouver as wild salmon pushing 20 pounds are not uncommon and the fishing is extremely rewarding. Ask about our fall salmon fishing specials!

Vancouver Winter & Spring Fishing: Winter is steelhead fishing season near Vancouver. A run of winter steelhead return to the Squamish River and the Cheakamus River in impressive numbers starting in January with the best steelhead fishing being in March, April and May. This can be challenging fishing but for steelhead bums visiting Vancouver this is a great option for some true West Coast steelheading! Bull trout are plentiful in the winter and spring months as well.

Typical Day on the Water: Your day will start early. Your guide will pick you up anywhere in Vancouver and in less than an hour you'll be on the water enjoying guided fishing at its best. Our guides are on these local rivers 100's of days of the year and are known for their dedication to getting you into fish. A leisurely river side lunch will have you fueled up for the afternoon and at the days end your guide will have you back in Vancouver for dinner time. And remember, you need nothing, all equipment is provided.
