Salmon Fishing in Tofino
On Tofino's doorstep is one of the largest migratory paths for salmon in BC. Often an offshore fishery, the salmon fishing off of Tofino has grown increasingly more productive over the past ten years and now is considered one of the most consistent saltwater fishing areas in British Columbia. To the north of Tofino is Clayoquot Sound, a UNESCO heritage site, and the spot to be when fishing the central west coast of Vancouver Island. Clayoquot is a major feeding station for the salmon on their migration south and the fishing here is consistently awesome about seven months of the year.

While salmon fishing in Ucluelet you'll be fishing the northern part of Barkley Sound, an area rich with sealife, baitfish, salmon runs and bottom fish. Barkley Sound has about 5 months of consistent salmon fishing starting in early summer and ending mid fall. There is ample bottom fishing here too, and halibut range in size from about 10 to 120 pounds. The reefs of Barkley Sound are bottom fishing dream spots with big lingcod and yelloweye rockfish.

At Chromer Sport Fishing we're a full service operation and although Tofino and Ucluelet are about 6 hours from Vancouver, they're easy to access, especially with our transportation services. We offer ground service for up to 12 people and can arrange air transportation as well. If you have your own transportation we'll be sure to give you detailed maps and info for a safe and easy drive.
