BC Winter Run Steelhead Fishing - Winter run steelhead fishing in British Columbia starts getting good as soon as the rivers see a little rise in water levels as the snow starts to melt. The best locations for winter steelhead fishing in British Columbia is in the southern parts of the province and on Vancouver Island. Winter run steelhead are not usually as big as summer run steelhead but fight hard and are often a more bright chrome color and referred to as ‘chromers’. BC Summer Run Steelhead Fishing - Summer run steelhead fishing is what we are famous for. These fish move into British Columbia rivers starting in the summer months and hold in them right until the late fall. These beautiful and feisty fish will aggressively take dry flies and many of the biggest steelhead caught each year in British Columbia are summer run steelhead. You’ll have to visit BC’s northern communities and rivers to find these fish. Towns such as Smithers, Telkwa and Terrace see visitors from around the world who come to fish local waters in search of trophy steelhead. We offer a variety of packages to great steelhead lodges in BC’s north, all fully inclusive and sure to please. Take a look below at our lineup.

British Columbia has always had strong returns of steelhead, and although steelhead runs have seen their fair share of challenges, they have persisted and continue to, and with the help from various conservation efforts and the education of anglers on proper catch and release techniques we hope to have wild steelhead return to British Columbia rivers for many years to come.
