- World-class salmon and halibut fishing is what Langara Island is famous for, and the lodge is mere minutes from these abundant world famous salmon fishing waters. The entire fishing area is close enough that guests can easily travel back and forth to the lodge for a relaxing lunch or afternoon hike and the many well-protected bays and inlets, of Langara Island ensure there is always sheltered waters. Guests are outfitted with marine clothing and fish in fully guided private boats manned by experienced and friendly salmon fishing guides.
- What to Expect on a Langara Island Fishing Trip
- You will embark on your Langara fishing journey in Vancouver where you will board a chartered plane and fly 2 hours north to the town of Massett in the Queen Charlotte Islands. From there you will board a helicopter for a scenic 25 minute flight north to Langara Island. This is where the true adventure begins. A crew of friendly staff is on hand to show you to your room, get you sized up for the right marine clothing and lunch is served. Youʼll meet up with your guide for an afternoon of salmon fishing and then enjoy your first of many gourmet Langara dining experiences. Depending on the lengths of your stay, youʼll be spending the next three or four days exploring the amazing salmon fishing at Langara Island, enjoying the fine west coast cuisine and experiencing one of the most beautifully and wild areas in British Columbia.

- As the centre piece to one of the worldʼs richest marine ecosystems, nature is on display in rare abundance at Langara Island. Eco-tourism activities, including whale watching, bird watching and Haida cultural tours, can all be a part of your experience. Humpback and killer whales, dolphins, porpoises, sea lions, bald eagles, falcons, and countless species of sea birds inhabit our pristine environment. Moss-shrouded rainforests, expansive beaches, and remnants of ancient Haida villages can also be explored by foot or helicopter.
