Our lodge is nestled in the woods of the Dean River delta. Stunning views of Kimsquit peak are had right from our courtyard, and accessing the Dean itself requires just a 10-minute walk through the trees. Guests stay in comfortable rustic cabins with running water, comfortable beds and fireplaces. Cabins house two anglers, and one cabin provides lodging for four angler - perfect for a group of four that would like to ‘stick together’ during the week. The clubhouse provides a lounge filled with comfortable couches, a wood stove, fishing pictures and a fly tying area.

There are few rivers in the world as famous as the Dean. A mecca for steelhead anglers from around the world, the Dean offers spectacular steelhead fishing and epic chinook/king fishing. Its a place were big, chrome, hard-fighting fish are more than willing to take a swung fly! Our Unique Fishing Program
We've combined both guided and self-guided fishing for your Dean River fishing adventure. Access the Dean below the canyon aboard jet boats with professional steelhead guides and then explore the Dean's upper stretches by ATV and enjoy self-guided fishing. Fishing techniques are predominantly based on swung flies with two-handed rods, for both steelhead and chinook salmon. Single-handed rods are used as well. For chinook salmon, all fishing involves sinktips. For steelhead, sinktips and dry lines are used.

Travel Logistics
Guests travel to our Dean River location via Vancouver and Bella Coola, BC. A flight from Vancouver (not included in package price) will have to Bella Coola on BC's central coast. From there a short charter flight (which is included) will fly you directly to the famous Dean River airstrip. On arrival at the Dean, guests and luggage are loaded into trucks for the very short drive from the airstrip to lodge. Guests unpack, have a quick meal, and have the opportunity to get a few hours of fishing in on the arrival day.

Gearing Up For Your Trip
Weather on the Dean is very unpredictable. No matter when you visit, be prepared for highs in the 80s and lows in the 40s. July is typically the warmest month, with cooler temperatures in June and August. Most guests fish with double handed rods, 9-10 weights for chinook/king fishing and 7-9 weights for steelhead. A quality large arbor reel is a must and a variety of sink tip lines and flies should be in every serious angler's arsenal. We do lots of steelhead and salmon fishing at Chromer so just ask and we'll make sure you're geared up right.
